Three decades of broomball excellence

Roland Lazzeri enjoyed an outstanding broomball career spanning nearly three decades, from 1990 to 2019.

During his career, he competed in 12 Italian Championship finals, winning six national titles with A.S. Pochi ’89.

An exceptional defender

Roland is recognized as one of the most prolific defenders in the history of Italian broomball, scoring more than 100 goals in official competition.

His combination of defensive ability and offensive production made him a distinctive presence on the ice and an important contributor to his team’s success over many years.

A strong international career

Roland represented Italian broomball at seven World Broomball Championships: Victoria in 1996, Bolzano in 1998, Minneapolis in 2002, Corner Brook in 2004, Minneapolis in 2006, Vancouver in 2008 and Innsbruck in 2010.

He also competed in four European Championships: Telfs in 2009, Bled in 2013, Lausanne in 2015 and Egna in 2017.

His long international career made him a familiar and respected figure within the global broomball community.

Leadership beyond the game

Roland’s contribution to broomball extended beyond his achievements as a player. From 1997 to 2011, he served as President of A.S. Pochi ’89, providing 14 years of leadership to the organization.

During his tenure, he made significant contributions not only to his club, but also to the development of the broader Italian broomball community.

Throughout his career, Roland was known for his sportsmanship, integrity and commitment to the game. He earned the respect of teammates and opponents alike and served as a role model both on and off the ice.
